Sensor-Guided Assembly of Segmented Structures with Industrial Robots

چکیده
This paper presents a robotic assembly methodology for the manufacturing of large segmented composite structures. The approach addresses three key steps in process: panel localization and pick-up, transport, placement. Multiple stationary robot-mounted cameras provide information alignment. A robot wrist-mounted force/torque sensor enables gentle but secure pick-up Human-assisted path planning ensures reliable collision-free motion with load tight space. finite state machine governs process flow user interface. It allows interruption return to previous known case error condition or when secondary operations are needed. For performance verification, high resolution capture system provides ground truth reference. An experimental testbed integrating an industrial robot, vision force sensors, representative laminated panels demonstrates feasibility proposed process. Experimental results show sub-millimeter placement accuracy shorter cycle times, lower contact force, reduced oscillation than manual operations. work versatility guided operation complex end-to-end tasks using open source Robot Operating System (ROS) software framework.

متن کاملAutomatic Sensor Frame Identification in Industrial Robots with Joint Elasticity∗
For robots with joint elasticity, discrepancies exist between the motor side information and the load side (i.e., end-effector) information. Therefore, high tracking performance at the load side can hardly be achieved when the estimate of load side information is inaccurate. To minimize such inaccuracies, it is desired to calibrate the load side sensor (in particular, the exact sensor location)...

متن کاملDevelopment of a Virtual Collision Sensor for Industrial Robots
Collision detection is a fundamental issue for the safety of a robotic cell. While several common methods require specific sensors or the knowledge of the robot dynamic model, the proposed solution is constituted by a virtual collision sensor for industrial manipulators, which requires as inputs only the motor currents measured by the standard sensors that equip a manipulator and the estimated ...
متن کاملA flexible multi-sensor positioning system for industrial robots
This paper offers an approach for a sensor-based robot positioning system which solves the problem of positioning the tool of an industrial robot relative to a work object for a subsequent assembly or application in the same way as it was done once during setup with a reference work object. The approach takes sensors as abstract data sources and is therefore able to use different kinds of senso...
